Virginia Online 4-Hour Supplemental Reckless & Aggressive Driver Education Program (RADEP)
The 4-Hour Supplemental RADEP course is designed for drivers who have already finished an 8-Hour Driver Improvement Clinic and later find out that they still need the additional 4 hours to complete the full 12-Hour RADEP requirement.
This course takes a closer look at the choices and behaviors that can lead to reckless or aggressive driving.
Students will learn how to:
- Recognize risky driving habits
- Understand how anger, stress, and frustration affect driving
- Identify poor decisions before they become dangerous
- Handle pressure and difficult driving situations more safely
- Reduce the chance of crashes
- Build better habits behind the wheel
The course is not just a review of traffic laws. It is designed to help students understand what can cause unsafe driving behavior and how to change it. Students complete short learning activities and self-checks that encourage them to think about their own driving decisions. These lessons show how repeated risky behavior can start to feel normal, even when it is still unsafe. A key part of the course is learning that feeling comfortable with a driving habit does not always mean that habit is safe. Students also learn how emotions, stress, impatience, peer pressure, and the need to stay in control can affect choices behind the wheel. By the end of the program, students should have a clearer understanding of their driving habits and practical tools they can use to become safer, more thoughtful, and more responsible drivers.
Important Notice
This course is NOT intended for Virginia DMV credit and does not award +5 safe driving points. It is ONLY designed to meet a court requirement for the 12-Hour Reckless and Aggressive Driver Education Program (RADEP) or to provide proof of completion for court-related purposes.
It is your responsibility to determine if your court requires in person / classroom courses , or if they accept online courses. You should always check with your court prior to registering for a RADEP course to ensure they accept online courses to satisfy the RADEP requirement. Most courts do accept online courses, but there are a few courts who may require you to take an in-person course.
